The Commercial Finance Director will oversee and lead the financial performance of the Cannondale commercial business within Europe. Directly reporting to the VP of Commercial Finance, and partnering closely with the Sales Director Europe, you will focus on maximizing profitability, optimizing net working capital, and delivering strategic financial insights to support the sustained growth and success of Cannondale within Europe.
How You'll Make an Impact:
Finance Management:
- Establish appropriate financial processes, controls, and oversight within the Europe market to drive profitability and streamline the operations.
- Drive profitable growth in the Europe market by collaborating with Global Finance Management and Sales Management; ensure Europe is aligned with the global strategy and set up to successfully meet the targets of the brand. Deploy appropriate management tactics to influence the Sales Team.
- Support and oversight of the Credit Department. Working closely with the Credit Manager to ensure revenue cycle management and cash collections are being managed efficiently. Work to minimize any bad debt exposure.
Financial Planning & Coordination:
- Lead the preparation of the Annual Budget, Monthly Forecasts, and Ad-Hoc Scenario Plans within the Europe markets to help inform strategic decisions.
- Close partnership with the Sales Director Europe to steer the Sales Team in the direction that will satisfy the financial goals.
- Oversee the preparation of comprehensive analyses, reports, and presentations for consolidated global financials (including actuals, forecasts, and budgets). Will manage one Finance Manager to support in all financial analysis.
Month-End Reporting:
- Oversee month-end close financials and provide variance analysis vs. Budget and Forecast, identifying key insights and trends. Will be supported by the accounting team.
Sales Planning & Support:
- Construct the Annual Commercial Sales Plan, in partnership with the Sales Team, focusing on aspects such as customer payment terms, employee commissions, and KPI tracking.
- Drive performance of Operational Expenses within the Europe market; ensure resources are being used most efficiently.
What You Bring to the Table:
- BS degree (or higher) in Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting preferred.
- 8-10+ years of related financial experience.
- Strong manager of people.
- Comfortable working in a fast and dynamic environment with minimal oversight.
- Experience owning (or providing strong support) of a P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Excellent financial analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial reporting and accounting, and a proven ability to work across functions within an organization.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, particularly with sales teams.
